Post-care instructions

Please note:  Eyeliner will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing for the first 3 -4 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures AND they will look lighter and patchy somewhere from day 5-15. The end result and color are more visible in about  4-5 weeks. Please be patient because even though the surface of skin looks healed the underneath tissue is not and it takes up to 4-6 weeks to heal.

  • No WATER contact for 48 hours.
  • To reduce puffiness or swelling put a clean Water wipe over your eyes and put a cold compress over the wipe for about 10 minutes. Repeat this every hour before going to Bed.
  • Do not sleep on your face and try to elevate your head to reduce puffiness.
  • 3 hours after the treatment use the Water Wipes. Leave the wipe for 10-20 seconds on the eyelids and then very gentle wipe the area. After that apply a very thin layer of the Tattoo After Care gel.
  • Repeat this procedure 3 to 5 times in the first 48 hours.
  • If you wash your face please avoid the eye area.
  • After 48 hours no more water wipes!
  • Maintain facial hygiene (you can use your face-wash but avoid the eye area) and apply the Tattoo After Care gel after washing your face or having a shower.
  • Apply a thin layer of Tattoo After Care gel every 3 hours to keep them moisturized and continue this until the scabbing is over, which might take 7-10 days.

What is to be avoided:

  • During the first 7 days all the creams (except for the protective one), all make-up (foundation) in the eye area. Avoid workouts that involve a lot of sweating, sauna, facial massage and steaming – inhalation.

In the next 30 days:

  • Sunbathing, solarium, light therapies, chemical peelings, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors.
  • Always avoid laser treatments over the treated area (fraxel laser, IPL), because they can destroy the pigment and cause burns.
  • Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to a faster pigment fading.

Important Note:  Avoid Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline during your healing period.
Anything with a Petroleum or Vaseline base can cause a reaction and can cause crusting and scabbing. We expect to see a little flaking but not scabbing. Vaseline/Petroleum can also cause sweating as the skin is not able to breathe.

DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.
